Fast EddieTimothy Levi Jackson, AKA “Fast Eddie”, age 21 of Kalkaska died Thursday, January 3, 2013. Levi was born on August 9, 1991 in Traverse City, MI. to Tim and Nancy (Scott) Jackson. He attended school in Kalkaska as well as Elk Rapids and in Louisiana for a short period of time. He received his GED in June of 2010.

Levi was a very outgoing and humorous person, a self-proclaimed entrepreneur, who had a great sense of humor, was very generous and kind hearted, and loved to make people laugh. He also enjoyed playing guitar, listening to music, camping, and disc golf. He had a love of animals, and worked at the Bokhara Kennels in Elk Rapid for a number of summers.

He is survived by his parents Timothy Jackson of Ohio, and Nancy Jackson of Kalkaska, sisters; Patricia Lauren (Ben) Berthelot of Rapid City, and Emily Jeanne Jackson of Traverse City, and half-brother Bruce Griffin of Chicago. Also surviving are grandparents Jeanne (Richard) Lee, and Clifford (Kay) Jackson. He was preceded in death by grandparents John and Patricia Scott, and Uncles John Jr., Patrick, Gerry, and Kevin Scott.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home., Pastor Jeff Badgero officiating. Visitation at the funeral home will be held on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family through the funeral home.

pastor-ron-gayPastor Ronnie (Ron) Lee Gay, 56, of Rapid City, passed away suddenly on Saturday June 9, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac. He was born on March 24, 1956 in Wheeling, West Virginia to Paul and Dawn (Fleming) Gay.

Ron is survived his wife Sharon of 37 years; his children, Matthew Aaron (Cheryl) Gay of Gladstone, Misty Lynn (David) Marshall of Kalkaska, Melanie Lee (Dennis) Farmer, Bradley Alex Gay, Cory Michael Gay, Kaylee Kristine Gay, Emily Elizabeth Gay, ChrissiLyn Gay, Andrew Jarvis Gay, and Joel Jaiden Gay all of Rapid City ; his mother, Dawn Gay of Florida; his grandchildren, Jacob, Joseph, Joshua and Jelena Marshall, Adrianah, Aleah and Eli Farmer, MacKenzie and Carriann Gay, Travis James Evans and Cameron Pastor; and his siblings, Kim A. Gay of Alabama, Kandy Buchanan of Ohio, Jamie Gay of Georgia, and Chris Gay of Hawaii.

Pastor Ron Gay was preceded in death by his father, Paul Gay and his sons, Zachary Evan Gay and Brady Christian Gay.

Ron married his childhood sweetheart Sharon Brand on September 7, 1974 in Bellevue, Ohio and together they raised a beautiful family. He met Sharon in Mrs. Stauffer’s 6th grade class. Ron was the Senior Pastor at the Torch Lake Assembly of God Church. He was a devoted family man. Ron cared deeply about his community, living and practicing the Word of Jesus, and was a very compassionate disciple of Christ. Seeing a need, Ron founded the Rapid City Area Food Pantry in 2000. Ron was currently the KAIR Board President in Kalkaska.

 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 13th from 2:00 until 4:00 pm and 7:00 until 9:00 pm at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home. The funeral will be on Thursday at 11:00 am at the Kalkaska Church of Christ with Pastor Huse Johnson and Pastor Richard VanBeek officiating. Burial will be in Clearwater Township Cemetery.
